Get to Know Us

Co-Founded by Guillaume Lavoie and Miguel Ángel Martínez, MU Fashion Lab was created as a next-generation fashion platform where luxury, culture, and purpose converge. Drawing on decades of international experience across fashion, media, and global brand strategy, the founders envisioned a creative laboratory that goes beyond the traditional runway—elevating designers, shaping narratives, and positioning fashion as a powerful cultural force within the Miss Universe ecosystem.
Together, they lead MU Fashion Lab as a space for innovation, cinematic storytelling, and global impact, redefining how fashion is experienced, amplified, and remembered.

Where Fashion Creates Impact
Fashion with Purpose is the philanthropic initiative of MU Fashion Lab, created to unite fashion, influence, and social impact into one powerful global platform. Designed as a bridge between creativity and conscience, the initiative uses high-profile fashion moments to spotlight critical humanitarian causes and generate tangible support beyond the runway.
Our recent Paris edition, co-hosted alongside Dr. Rajeev Fernando, exemplified this mission—bringing together designers, global talent, cultural leaders, and partners during Paris Fashion Week to champion awareness, compassion, and action. Through curated fashion experiences and intentional storytelling, the event transformed elegance into advocacy, reaffirming that fashion can be both beautiful and meaningful.
The Beginning of Fashion
with Purpose

Fashion with Purpose originated from an early vision by Miguel Martinez and Guillaume Lavoie to use fashion as a platform for social impact. An oil-inspired editorial—captured by Fashion TV’s cameras—brought together 22 contestants alongside Natalie Glebova, Miss Universe 2005, to raise awareness and funds for Oceana following the 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Shot by Canadian photographer John Bregar, the project laid the foundation for a philosophy that continues to guide us today—where fashion extends beyond aesthetics to create meaningful change.
